Honey, I've Shrunk the Blog!

As the author of a blog entitled "All for the Greater Glory of God," I've noticed that I've been doing more than my share of political ranting. I'll chalk that up to a Rush Limbaugh fantasy (gag), and soon delete political rants that don't promote the glory of God.

OK, it's 11/7/2010, and I finally shrank the blog.

Warren's inauguration prayer could draw more ire

Warren's inauguration prayer could draw more ire AP - Tue Dec 30, 9:35 PM ET

President-elect Barack Obama's choice of Rick Warren to deliver the inaugural invocation drew one kind of protest. Whether the evangelical pastor offers the prayer in the name of Jesus may draw another. At George W. Bush's 2001 swearing-in, the Revs. Franklin Graham and Kirbyjon Caldwell were criticized for invoking Christ. The distinctly Christian reference at a national civic event offended some, and even prompted a lawsuit.

==========

First, separation of church and state means that the state (as in Federal Government) shall not establish an official religion. It does not mean that no religious references can be made on government property and/or at government events.

Secondly, the Bill of Rights still provides for freedom of speech and freedom of religion; ergo, anyone may speak the Name of Jesus in any setting.

Thirdly, there is no constitutional provision for a right not to hear what you don't want to hear. There is a God-given provision for this -- you have fingers that can be stuck in your ears to block sounds. Use it.

Lastly, if I see anyone file a lawsuit over the speaking of the Name of my Savior, I'm having that person charged with a hate crime against Christians and a violation of my civil right to freedom of religion.

For first time, Christmas official holiday in Iraq AP - Thu Dec 25, 6:41 AM ET

Prop. 8 sponsors seek to nullify 18K gay marriages

Prop. 8 sponsors seek to nullify 18K gay marriages AP - Sat Dec 20, 9:36 AM ET

SAN FRANCISCO - The sponsors of Proposition 8 asked the California Supreme Court on Friday to nullify the marriages of the estimated 18,000 same-sex couples who exchanged vows before voters approved the ballot initiative that outlawed gay unions.

==========

As much as I'd like to see this happen from a Biblical viewpoint, legally there better still be something known as ex post facto, which means something already done can't be later outlawed and and prosecuted. I'm pretty sure nullifying would count as prosecution.

Calif. Court: Would-be Good Samaritan can be sued

Calif. Court: Would-be Good Samaritan can be sued

AP - Thu Dec 18, 6:22 PM ET

LOS ANGELES - Proving that no good deed goes unpunished, the state's high court on Thursday said a would-be Good Samaritan accused of rendering her friend paraplegic by pulling her from a wrecked car "like a rag doll" can be sued.

==========

Not only is this a Good Samaritan, but a friend being sued! I pray I have no such "friends."

Dear God, we've been waiting for the "big one" that rips California free of the continent to drift out to sea and sink ... I think now would be good. I know -- You're going to wait. I don't know how You do it; I couldn't handle Your job. Amen.
